Our Company

Nord Stream AG*, a joint venture, was established on 2 December 2005, with the purpose of carrying out a feasibility study and building the Nord Stream Pipeline.

Gazprom holds a 51 per cent stake in the joint venture. BASF/Wintershall and E.ON Ruhrgas hold 20 per cent each. Gasunie has a 9 per cent share.

(* initially established as North European Gas Pipeline Company, the name was changed to Nord Stream in October 2006)

Our company has a staff of around 130 including experienced international experts from 17 countries. Project management will meet the highest standards and methods of best practice. Nord Stream AG involves leading European consultants on environmental, technical and financial issues.

Corporate Governance

The Shareholder Committee consists of top managers representing each of the Shareholders. The Chairman of the Shareholder Committee is Gerhard Schroeder, former Chancellor of Germany.
