Gasunie joined as the fourth Shareholder.

October 2006

The name of the company (initially registered as the North European Gas Pipeline Company) changed to Nord Stream AG.

August 2006

OAO Gazprom, E.ON AG, and BASF AG signed the final shareholder agreement on the construction of the North European Gas Pipeline from Russia to Germany via the Baltic Sea.

30 March 2006

First official meeting of the Shareholders’ Committee was held in Moscow to make decisions on personnel and other issues.

02 December 2005

North European Gas Pipeline Company incorporated in Zug (Switzerland) by Gazprom (51%), BASF AG (24.5%) and E.ON AG (24.5%) to engineer, construct and operate the pipeline.

8 September 2005

In Berlin, OAO Gazprom, BASF AG and E.ON AG signed a basic joint venture agreement to build the pipeline through the Baltic Sea.
