Music: Baltic Youth Philharmonic

The Baltic Youth Philharmonic is a joint initiative of the Usedom Music Festival and Nord Stream AG, founded in 2008. This orchestra brings together the most promising young musicians from the states bordering the Baltic Sea. Students from music academies in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Germany create “A New Voice in the North,” a unique sound and experience that draws upon the richness of the region's diversity. Studies: Information Fund

Nord Stream has invested over 100 million euros in conducting the most extensive environmental studies of the Baltic Sea. To help improve knowledge on the state of the Baltic Sea, Nord Stream will share the valuable knowledge and survey data it gathered over the years through the establishment of a Data and Information Fund. Environment: Maritime Research Project

The shallow water areas east of Gotland, as well as Hoburgs Bank south of Gotland and the Pomeranian Bight are important areas for fish and serve as natural habitats for several species of water birds like the long-tailed duck. Nord Stream is funding a three-year research project examining interactions between seabed, water birds and humans in the ever changing Baltic Sea environment.
