DNV GL renews Nord Stream certification

Nov. 27, 2015 | Zug | International certification body DNV GL has commended Nord Stream for its continued commitment to safe and reliable gas transportation and confirmed the pipeline operator’s compliance with the best-in-class industry requirements for design, integrity and functional safety.

DNV GL confirmed that both lines of the Nord Stream Pipeline meet the stringent requirements of DNV-OS-F-101, the offshore standard for submarine pipeline systems, which governs safe design, construction, operation and maintenance practices. Nord Stream was first awarded the safety certification in October 2012 and this marks the third annual assessment and renewal of its validity.

At a signing ceremony with the specialists and managers involved in the operation and maintenance of the Nord Stream Pipeline, DNV GL commended Nord Stream AG for its achievements during the third year of official full operation of its assets in Russia, Germany, Zug and Offshore.
