Technical ConceptThe pipeline will be 1220 km in length, with a diameter of 1,220 millimetres (48 inches) and design pressure of 220 bar. Two parallel lines will be laid, with a transportation capacity of 27.5 billion m³ p.a. each. The total throughput capacity will be approximately 55 billion m³ p.a. High-standard steel will be used for pipes (DNV Offshore Standard OS-F101). The pipeline steel will correspond to API 5LX-70. The wall thickness of the pipes will be 26.8-41.0 mm. The pipes will be protected with an anti-corrosion coating which is further reinforced by concrete coating in thicknesses ranging between 60 and 110 mm and will give the pipelines added weight to keep them stable on the seabed. The offshore pipeline is positioned, welded and laid down in the sea by heavy pipe laying barges. These vessels are capable of laying large-diameter subsea pipelines. The designed laying speed is up to 3 km per day. |
