Gas Begins to Flow through Line 2
On October 8, 2012, gas began to flow through Line 2 of Nord Stream’s twin pipeline system. A push of a button at the control centre at the Gazprom Gas Complex Preparation Station made this possible. The screen above the gentlemen on stage depicts that gas is flowing through Line 2. Together the two pipelines are now capable of delivering 55 billion cubic metres of gas a year to the European gas grid. Nord Stream consortium heads were at the event to celebrate gas flowing through the twin pipeline system.
