Lowering Cable Attached to PIG Launcher
April 18, 2012: Aboard the Castoro Sei, a cable is attached to the end of a PIG launcher, which is attached to the end of Line 2. The pipeline was lowered onto the seabead on the morning of April 18.
PIG (Pipeline Inspection Gauge) launchers are specialised heads attached to the start of the three sections of the pipelines. They house the PIGs that will clean and gauge the sections prior to pressure testing.
