Nord Stream and Allseas executives on board the Solitaire
"All systems go!" Nord Stream Deputy Director Construction Ruurd Hoekstra (left) congratulates Allseas' Vice President Projects and Operations Leo D. Varkevisser (right) and Jon B. Wade, Construction Superintendent of the Solitaire (centre) on board the pipelay vessel: "Everything is on schedule and all systems go," he said. Allseas' Solitaire will lay the 342.5 kilometre Gulf of Finland section of the Nord Stream Pipeline, where the dynamically-positioned Solitaire will operate without anchors and thus only touch the seabed with the pipeline itself along the precise agreed route. This congested part of the Baltic Sea is known for its many historic mine lines.
