Russian Landfall Facility
The Russian landfall facility is the logistical link between the unified gas system of Russia and the Nord Stream offshore pipeline system. Here, gas is fed into the twin pipelines. The Nord Stream facility is equipped with all systems necessary to monitor parameters of incoming gas and ensure safe operation. A heating and reduction unit is used when the pipelines are filled with buffer gas, it heats the gas to avoid the formation of hydrates.
