Ceremony in Russia to Mark the Start to Construction of the Nord Stream Pipeline
Numerous politicians and members of Nord Stream management attended the ceremony to mark the start to construction of the Nord Stream Pipeline. Then-president of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev signed one of the pipe segments destined for the pipeline. Others in attendance include Günther Oettinger, European Commissioner for Energy; Gerhard Schröder, Chairman of the Nord Stream Shareholders’ Committee; and Matthias Warnig, Managing Director of Nord Stream AG.
