Wade, Construction Superintendent for the Solitaire, goes into detail about the technical features of the pipelay vessel Solitaire and the precise route that a pipe follows from loading, to processing on board, through to being laid on the Baltic seafloor. Wade also explains the various non-destructive testing procedures employed during welding, and monitoring of the so-called S-Lay procedure that the pipeline is laid with.
