Loading of a PIG Receiver – Part 2
After the underwater welding of the pipes (Hyperbaric Tie-In, or HTI), a PIG receiver is lifted by an onboard crane. PIGs (Pipeline Inspection Gauges) are intelligent inspection devices that are regularly sent through the pipeline in search of corrosion damage and leaks.
