Central Assembly Line
The central assembly line, knows as the firing line, runs through the centre of the vessel. Here, double joints will be welded to the pipeline. The firing line consists of a fixed pipelay ramp and an internal and an external ramp ("stinger") both of which have adjustable inclination to facilitate pipelaying in varying water depths. This is a view towards the bow of the vessel, before a new stinger was fitted during upgrading of the C6 for the Nord Stream project at the Port of Rotterdam.
