Construction site for concrete weight coating and interim stockyard at Kotka

Pipe joints for the construction of the Nord Stream Pipeline have been stored in Kotka (Finland) since June 2008. There, the pipes, which are 12-metre long are coated with a concrete layer that is 60-110 millimetres thick. The concrete weight coating lends additional weight and thereby stability to the pipeline on the seabed
