Measuring Water Quality with a CTDO-recording Unit

The water quality parameters conductivity (salinity), temperature, depth and oxygen in the water column (from sea surface to bottom) measured with a CTDO-unit are relevant to fish and benthos monitoring. Changes in salinity, oxygen levels or temperature can have an effect of benthic fauna or fish populations. Initial survey results show that Nord Stream’s construction has no negative impact on the water quality in the Baltic Sea.
