Sediment sampling prior to gravel placement

A probe is lowered in the water to collect sediment samples prior to gravel placement. Gravel placement involves placing coarse gravel and small stones – typically up to 200 millimetres in size – in specific areas before the pipeline is laid to reshape the seabed and ensure the long-term integrity of the pipeline.
