The Pipelay Vessel Castoro Sei
Nord Stream contracted the Italian company Saipem S.p.A. to lay the natural gas pipeline across the Baltic Sea. Construction of the Nord Stream Pipeline started in the Swedish Exclusive Economic Zone of the Baltic Sea in early April 2010. The pipelay vessel Castoro Sei (C6) began offshore pipe laying near the Island of Gotland and with a distance of 675 kilometres from the pipeline's starting point near Vyborg, Russia.
