Transport to Storage Areas or to Pipe Carrier Vessels
Pipes are lifted by crane onto flat bed lorries, transferred to storage areas and then placed on specific stacks with a reach stacker. 96 percent of all transport for the Nord Stream project is
handled via train and also by vessel, both environmentally sound means of transport. Transport by lorry was limited to within the harbours themselves.
