Nord Stream is fully committed to preserving the Baltic Sea environment. The pipeline has been planned with particular consideration of environmental issues and conditions in the Baltic Sea. The Baltic Sea is unique in terms of its flora, fauna, salinity and human activities. Nord Stream has carefully studied these factors and takes them into account in the pipeline routing.
