Last Pipe of Nord Stream’s Line 1
On May 4, 2011 the last pipe of Nord Stream's first gas pipeline entered the firing line of the pipelay vessel Castoro Sei, was welded onto the rest of the pipeline and lowered to the seabed. All three sections of Line 1 have now been laid and will be linked together under-water this summer. In the last quarter of 2011, the Nord Stream Pipeline will start transport-ing natural gas from Russia directly to the European Union.
