Pre-commissioning Pig (pipeline inspection gauge)
After installation the Nord Stream Pipeline will undergo a series of tests to prepare the pipeline for commercial operation. The pipeline will be flooded, cleaned, gauged, pressure tested, dewatered and dried before gas is introduced. Cleaning and gauging pigs will be launched through the pipeline to check it for irregularities.
