Underwater Welding on Nord Stream Pipeline Completed
All three sections of the first of Nord Stream's twin pipelines were joined together underwater by hyperbaric tie-ins. Pipe ends that were cut off were retrieved and loaded onto a support vessel. A diamond wire cutter was used to cut through the high-tensile steel.
