Van Veen Grab for Benthos Sampling
The samples retrieved using a Van Veen grab are analysed to determine the re-colonization and recovery of the benthic lifeforms. The purpose is to document changes in the benthic flora and fauna communities caused by sediment spreading and other impacts from construction and by the change in geomorphology and seabed substrate caused by the presence of the pipelines.
