Welding
In the firing line of the Castoro Sei (C6), double joints are welded to the end of the pipeline using a semi-automatic system. Afterwards, every millimetre of each weld area is thoroughly examined by automated ultrasonic testing (AUT). The pipes in this photo, which are not weight coated, are being welded together to test the equipment. This took place while the C6 was being retrofitted in the Port of Rotterdam in February 2010 for the Nord Stream project.
