Pipelay Vessel Solitaire Being Loaded with Pipes
The pipe lay vessel Solitaire is shown taking on and processing pipes. The stowing of pipes within the ship is also shown. The Solitaire is the largest pipelay vessel in the world. In contrast to the other pipelay vessels, it has its own propulsion system, and therefore does not need to drop anchor during the pipelay process. This makes it particularly suited to laying pipelines in deep waters.
